    You make it sound like locomotives out in the open actually have somewhere to go - they don't, or they'd be indoors.

    We'd all like to see locos stored indoors when awaiting overhaul, restoration or simply when not in steam. But that's not often an option. Undercover space is at a premium on every railway - even ones well provided with such like the SVR.

    Life aint that easy.

    Are you offering a sorce of funding on a national basis to erect the necessary buildings?

    If so there will be plenty of interest in this.

    If not this thread seems somewhat pointless.
