    To revert to the original question, disregarding the credentials of the individual raising it...

    What IS the status of the UK examples? The KWVR, NYMR, CVR and Southern Steam survivors are well documented. For a long time there was a set of Baldwin 2-8-0 frames in the weeds at the far end of Riley's works, and there was also said to be frames at Ribble Steam Railway.

    I assume that these are now the bits that Wikipedia says are at GCR(N). As for the ever reliable Wikipedia, however, the linked article fails to mention that "S160" was only the ALCo designation and therefore technically doesn't apply to the Baldwin or Lima survivors, although the generic term seems to have stuck.
