W55991 and 2 were common sights on the London Division but oft overlooked were the stripped out passenger cars which operated with them. Anyone any photos of them? can't think of the numbers but W50872 rings a bell perhaps.

There were two Class 116 2-car sets (centre trailers removed), L341 & L342, transferred from Cardiff and converted in 1967. The vehicles involved were 50819, 50862, 50872 & 50915

They were in blue with "Parcels service" lettering. They were classified Class 130 under TOPS, and were noted as often working singularly aiding the two Class 128 units, often with a BG or two in tow as well. In 1977 two of them were converted back into passenger vehicles.

No photo's sadly, the above information was on the part of the Railcar Association website which is currently closed. Perhaps someone may be able to find some pics using the other vehicle numbers?

thats interesting. I can't recall seeing two of these cars working together, only ever with a 128 car. 50872 i got right, Id say my memory would be as 50819 as the other I recall. Maybe the other two cars weren't used?

Yes, in the information I had it was noted that the vehicles rarely operated as sets, with individual powercars being hooked onto the 128s.
