    In about 35 years time when most of us rail minded members are well into retirement, a class 70 diesel will enter preservation at the National Rail Museum. I guarantee that within 5 minutes a young child will look up to his father and utter the words ''what an ugly bloody engine that is, Dad!!'' .....and he would be spot on. <BJ>

    I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that a Class 70, to quote Red Dwarf, looks like a "half-chewed rubber-tipped pencil" (as Arnold Rimmer calls Kryten).
