Indeed, its just never happened, even taking account the number of times that 34067 has been through Lancaster doing Carnforth to Southall moves!

I have fond memories of them as well as a regular visitor to Didcot when Winston Churchill was there.

I certainly was not aware that she was to be main line capable - and its not as if I don't see a Mr Doowneerg at fairly regular intervals. Any Spamcan emitting smoke is worth seeing!

............unless you're linesiding and smoke and steam is being blown in the wrong direction, obscuring everything in sight apart from the front of the smokebox. Tangmere has done this a few times to me, and I'm sure that others have had similar experences. Apart from that, I agree with you 100%. It would be good to see 34092 on the main line again. If the main line can accomodate three main line A4s at the same time (or two Britannias), surely there's an opening for a second spam can, especailly with their wide route availability. Yet unless the sale of 34073 to an anonymous buyer for restoration to main line use is still on - and things have gone very quiet here for several months now - 34092 looks like the only possible partner for Tangmere out there on the bg railway.

It always used to be the joke, amongst the Flying Scotsman Services team, during Well's main line certificate that after fitting with the Gisele exhaust she was not likely to start any lineside fires................5 miles away perhaps but not at the lineside!

My first trip behind her was southbound on the S&C Mayday bank holiday 1982, we had a photo-stop at Ribblehead station and it was blowing a blizzard with several inches of snow on the platform. I enjoyed many more trips with her until her mainline certificate expired. I shall be glad to see her back.

All this talk of Wells going mainline - you got facts ot fiction??? Because last I heard from a co-owner it wasn't going mainline.

What talk? As far as I can see, a single post back in 2010 that was quickly denied doesn't really constitute 'all this talk....'

There was immediate assumption when the recent steaming was mentioned on the Bullied thread. As I pointed out there, KWVR has indicated that mainline running is entirely a decision for the owners.
