Jim Bob. Thank you for the detailed response to my query. I will track down Mr Baker's book via Amazon (or similar) though I fear Kinghambranch may have beaten me to the cheapest option!

Sir Handel, et al., I am going to make a final post on this thread, because I feel it has drifted way "off topic" (moderator may agree!).

So, for you, and all others who have contributed and are interested in further investigation of Broadway Station and the associated Goods Yard, I would also recommend obtaining a copy of the "Middleton Press" excellent book "Stratford upon Avon to Cheltenham Railway" in their "Country Railway Routes" series, by Vic Mitchell and Keith Smith (pub. 1998, reprinted 2001). As with all the publisher's books, this contains full details and history of the route. With particular reference to Broadway is a repro. of the 1923 Ord. Survey map. This plainly shows the layout, at that time.

The other option, of course, is to use "Google Earth" (usual disclaimer). There are various aerial views, going back to 1945, which clearly show the development of the Caravan Park and the efforts they have made to maintain the integrity of the site vis-a-vis the railway it adjoins.

Thank you all and happy reading and investigation!"

Not sure that it really has drifted off topic - and it's not the Mod's role to police that anyway

Actually Michael it is part of the moderator role if the thread goes really off topic, depending on the nature of course - sometimes we have to create a new thread out of the off topic posts which is one example of where we do have to keep an eye on off topic posts. However, Minor deviations off topic such as in this case are fine and this thread hasn't really drifted off topic (well it has but the off topic posts relate to some useful information on how to obtain a copy of an excellent but out of print book) so it's all good!

Michael, as a relative "newbie" on this site, I will bow to your obvious knowledge! However, on many other "blog" sites that I use (not necessarily railway related), the moderator could always call time on any thread that had drifted off-topic, or had served its purpose. Although I did not start this thread, I have had a deal of input into it (going back to March last year) and got into quite hot water from various people for spreading rumours. All of which, twelve months later, have proved only too true, according to my latest information. As far as I am concerned, the sale is "done and dusted" and no further good will come of airing further grief. The GWSR and, particularly, the Broadway Area Group should carry on onwards and upwards with the work being carried out, hence my recent posts providing details to those interested in further reading.....

    'Nuff said, on my part.
