I see that 6024 is not available for the CE trip to Plymouth on 10th March as replacement to 71000 "due to an issue with the locomotive that cannot be repaired in time for the trip". (Quote from SD apparently). Does anyone know what the problem is with 6024 and whether it be fixed by the 17th March?

I have not had acess to a omputer for over a month now so have I missed something? 6024 was denied the Bristol Westbury route for a Weymouth Seaside Express last year due to gauging, obviously this has changed as the Limited is booked via Westbury from Temple Meads.
I am planning on videoing the train in the Somerton area so I need to be sure its coming that way!!!!!

Hi Nick. At present the King is booked to run via Bath, Westbury and Somerton on the outward leg ONLY.
As we all know with this hobby of ours, things can change at the eleventh hour.

Try to check again nearer to the 17th. Good to hear from you again!! <BJ>

Thanks Bill, good to be back and I intend to be around for good now!!
Yes I will keep an eye on things, if it does go the normal Torbay route I will have to try the Teign estuary. There a picture on the 6024 site, in the gallery, of the Staite Pulman on the estuary and I have wanted to go there to video for a while now, so this may be a chance.

A wire fence has appeared along the teign estuary looks as though it was put up during recent engineering works not sure if it has been removed perhaps someone local could update

Do you have a link to the vid ? I suspect were talking about two different locations on the estuary.

Some of the people along this stretch don't really help matters, i believe the character known as 'Dr Death' was solely responsible for the fencing at Cockwood Harbour after a photo of him nearly getting twatted by a Voyager here made it onto a Modern Traction forum.

The local fishermen and boat owners don't help the situation. We were at Cockwood harbour a couple of years ago waiting for a steam charter when a guy walked along the railway track to his boat. He had his back to the approaching trains. We shouted furiously at him but he simply made a rather rude gesture to us. A passing train sounded its' horn but the 'person' just ignored it. No wonder that palasade fencing is being erected along so many miles of railway lines. <BJ>

If you look at Charles G Woodlands smug mug site Feb 12 page 127 you will see the fence in question on the Teign Estuary as i said in my previous post it looks temporary not sure why anybody bothers to post on this forum i shall not be bothering again see ya.

When people said fence I thought they meant a fence. Looks like some sticks and wire to me don't know what everyone's complaining about!

6024 approached Bath a few minutes late with 12 coaches.
Stock: 11 chocolate and cream coaches plus 1 full blue (2nd coach). Photoshop it out folks.
On a positive note, that coach will be at the back on the return.

Depart Taunton on time at 11:46. <BJ>
