Tom wrote the WTT, so is party to more information than us. It may be that what was hoped for when the WTT was published is no longer the case.

    Just noticed this on UKSteam:

    Thu 22-Mar 60019: Southall-Kidderminster

No timings are shown, and I don't know what they might be; someone else may be able to help there. But fingers crossed!

Tom said on the SVR forum that 4464 is expected at Kiddy at 14.30.

08.30 from Southall, I believe, then via Swindon, Kemble, Gloucester and Worcester, arriving at Kidderminster at 14.30, as suggested above.

Thank you both, and to Tom of course. I won't be free to see it, but best of luck to those who can make it.

    Thanks Tom

I don't usually stray too far from Bewdley at Galas as there's always so much to phot around there, but maybe break my rule this time!

    Tom, Anytime.

At least this year we will see some more photos away from the "norm"
The WTT has alot more information than previous WTTs which Tom and the team behind it should be commended.

There seem to be a couple of discrepancies between the loco allocations via the SVR website and the WTT (42968 on Friday am for example).

Am I correct in thinking that the WTT is more likely to be the gospel here?

Yeah I'd always believe the WTT over anything else.

The WTT is correct, the public version being the one where my concentration lapsed!

Have just seen a post on another group to say a light engine move is booked from Southall to Kidderminster on Thursday. I presume this is for the A4.

828 is due to have a test run on thursday, which will define whether it will be available or not, but there are a lot of positive sounds coming out of Bridgo and the scottish lads as well as the paid staff have been working tooth and nail to get it there.

2857 is currently serviceable at Bridgo. As I understand it (Tom may well correct me) she works 2968's diagram on saturday on the assumption that there are no unexpected failures, and is spare loco the other two days.

    Hope this helps.

Indeed it is, due at Kidderminster SVR at 14.30. Will probably run down to BH and back for coaling as some point on thursday (at support crew's discretion)

Just to clarify from the WTT is it known which locos will be on the diagrams marked 28/29 and TBC_1? I guess this is subject to the outcome of the test run by 828.

Answered the first bit of your question here...

2968's diagram that i refer to is the one marked 28/29 as the two locos will be sharing it. TBC_1, as you correctly guessed, will be 828 assuming it is available.

It all depends what kind of photos your after. All of the stations on the line are pretty good if you are after photos around the stations. In my opinion Highley will be quite a good place to watch as there is quite a lot of space to get shots of trains arriving and departing and there will lots happening around Highley as this is where the local trains from Kidderminster will run to.
The classic SVR shot from the lineside is arguably Victoria Bridge which is only a short walk from Arley station down toward the river. There are a wide variety of different views that can be taken from the footpaths next to the bridge on both banks of the Severn. Information about a selection of different lineside locations can be found at the links below:

Hope that helps. Enjoy the gala!
