Seven round trips I see. That's not bad at all.
The 34081 sales stand will be at Wansford so if you've got some money to spend after your 'Tornado Experience', you know where to spend it. :)

And if you come to SSS3 we can have round 3 back on our home turf.

Can someone please clarify if I've missed something here?

I have been an NVR member for a number of years now. I thinks its fair to say for the last few of those years there has been a lack of gala visitors. That was until the fantastic 'East meets West' gala last Autumn with 'The Duke' and 'Kinlet Hall'. With that in mind, when I saw this first advertised I assumed it was replacing the Mixed Traction gala from last year and really got my hopes up. As details came out including the Club Car, Dining Train and Shed Tours I really thought that this was turning into a massive event and the NVR was finally trying to get back into the Steam premier league.

But then the timetable was released. Only two engines in steam and one of them is Thomas! I accept its Easter and there are children to please, but surely if you have Thomas with two coaches doing regular shuttles to Yarwell, there is room for another train to Peterborough. Whether it be a goods, mail or another passenger set (Wagon Lits).

From the massive gala that the last was with 5 engines we have dwindled down to two!

So my previously local railway seem to have finally gone the extra mile to get the biggest guest of all, but if a paying customer arrives at the wrong time all they get to see is Thomas racing around the yard for an hour?

So back to the original question, have I missed something or are my expectations just to high?

The Tornado visit is not a gala event and was never intended to be, it is a unique event to celebrate Tornado on the NVR,

It does strike me as a massive wasted opportunity. At the very least it would make sense to have a main line engine on the second service and just have Thomas pottering around the station or doing Yarwell shuttles.
