Thanks for sharing Steve. Looks like a case of 'steady as she goes' then but it is really good to see something Southern over Shap after all this time, even if it's at a modest pace.

34067 also ran a northbound tour over the S&C in May 2008 without assistance. But, first southbound spamcan since 1988 I think, and first ever on Shap? :)

The 1948 Locomotive Exchanges saw MN 35017 work Euston - Carlisle during the trials and I think WC 34004 was routed via the WCML when moving north for the Perth - Inverness part of the trials.

Certainly in the right place at the summit Steve, very surprised to see a couple of slips there, can't say I've ever seen that before.

Another video which contains the following warning:

"I'm not 100% at the moment and shouldn't really have ventured out, but it was Tangmere, so both shots (on Shap and at Aisgill) had to be from easy reach spots where I could film from next to the car. Not the best locations or filming and a bit unsatisfactory all round but - I did see Tangmere tackle Shap! Thanks to all involved with running this trip."

That should put all but the hardy or curious!

Some great footage and photos posted and thanks for sharing them. I see the weather was "changeable" on the S&C again... :rain:

She was certainly struggling a bit on Shap, as Chris's and Austin's videos show, but was making good progress on Aisgill despite the appalling weather..

Hmm, maybe not struggling Ralph but certainly plodding and going about her business. WC certainly made her do some work with putting 12 on the drawbar for the run yesterday!

    Great pics/vids all!

Sooner or later that greaser at Scout Green will catch something out in a big way.
