Got tickets and timings for this today. On the outward run there is no longer a pick-up at Woking as it is too busy for the CE to stop there and passengers now have to board at Brookwood. Passengers from Woking will be escorted again like they were on the Help For Heroes trip.
I wonder if this change of pick up point will now apply to other trips which are/were calling at Woking? i.e. the regular Dorset Coast Express runs in the summer and the UK Railtours Swanage trip with 35028 at the end of the month (which we are also on).

Looks like we will need the raincoats tommorrow as the forecast isn't great. This seems to be a regular occurrence when we visit Bristol on railtours!

You should have paid the extra 'couple of pounds' and travelled on the VSOE today. It's nice and sunny in the
Bath/Bristol area at present. Naturally the weather will change by the time of the departure this evening. <BJ>

I think it's just the odd pick up time. The 0845 Victoria slot with 1006 at Woking seems ok.

    Afternoon All,

Britannia looked, and sounded, superb as she went through Farnborough this morning. Despite it being somewhat dull and dismal, I managed to get a couple of snaps and these are now on my Flickr site. Here's the link if anyone would like to have a look :

Latest Pictures - 12th April - a set on Flickr

This is only a temporary collection but they will be there for the next month or so. However, they can also be found in the 'Main Line Steam - 2012' Collection which is here :

Hope that they are of interest.

Brilliant run back to London, with some really exciting high speed running between Salisbury and Brookwood on the return, despite the rain. Thought I would share my clips with you all, link is below.

A cracking day out with 70000 yesterday. Our first run behind her on the ML and we were very impressed. Some great fast running on the return with a fine max speed after Andover ( I won't mention what it was!) And earlier we had a superb climb of Upton Scudamore Bank.

Thanks a lot. Haven't had much luck with lighting recently, so was pleased with the results. I have another angle (that might be uploaded at a later date, or kept for my end of year DVD) that has the sun glinting off the nameplate and along the boiler. It was a superb night.

Great trip; I joined at Salisbury and enjoyed good weather. It was well organised and the time at Bristol was long enough to make a good day out whether shopping, sightseeing or doing a trip over the Severn Beach branch in my case.
