A fine railway, but will their staff keep their orange jackets out of the way at stations? Maybe it's a British machismo thing, but is it really necessary to wear these on the platform?

Some railways are better than others on this, but Llangollen Railway needs to improve in this regard.

Will there be 2 runs of the Cavalcade at Carrog as there were at SSS2?

    Thanks,
    Lewis

Never mind the staff - what about the visitors ! I would personally not allow any visitors wearing hi-vis past the gate.

Sometimes it is necessary to wear these on platforms.

I can honestly say, that no volunteers at Llangollen wear a hi via vest, when not required to within their duty. Like Bob has said, and I've noticed several times, visitors and photographers turn up in them. Which is totally pointless, as no line side access is allowed.

Ooh I Amy wait to get home and find the post!

I don't remember seeing any Llangollen railway staff wit hi vis on, on the platforms - certainly none on our wedding pictures :)

Britannia and the N2 arrived today. The coal tank was sat in the shed, and the jumbo looked as if it had been put back together. It arrived in kit form from the SVR.

5199 was also back in the loco shed after a repaint. Looks good!

The home fleet don't do a great deal over the whole gala, and I guess the 6880 group only wanted to use 5199 (their own engine), Foxcote manor, 80072 and 44806.

I think a lot of the locos used are based on a theme as such.

As a deicated Western Fan. I been behind working 14xx, 64xx, 16xx, 57xx, 45xx, 5101, Dukedog, 2251, City, 42xx, Hall, Manor, Castle, and King. And yet I never been able, despite serveral attempts, see a working GWR 28xx or 2884. Which bit anoying. And now fate farts in my face once again...

Why they put her in the leaflet then?

It wouldn't have been 3802, so wasn't what I was getting at there! Lol. 6430 gets a lot of use, due to it working the shuttles to Bonwm on the 5 weekend days.

It could be because your coming to Llan then!! If you come up for the gala in September, then it will almost definitely be running!

Pass, but the September event is more of a home fleet sort of thing. Although hopefully they will get a nice visitor in. Tis a long time till then, and we have an amazing line up of engines in the yard at the moment!
