    On RailUK the fire and other failures record has been toted up as 1,3,5,7,8,9,13,15,18, plus 12 dropped. Thats 9 of 19 locomotives delivered.

    Maybe fire extinguishers should be installed at signals on the route!! - will have to wait for the next one-- it s coming ........... look up fires on North American GE s .

    Another one heading south broke down at worting jct today, SWT must be getting fed up with F/L trains blocking there services

    Class 70's should also be banned for their contribution to global warming (i.e. when they catch fire).

    Just heard that the class 70s are grounded due to a further incident. The info was not from an official source so may not be totally accurate, although they are rather close.

    In a few years time when they are all lined up in a scrapyard and the scrapman is taking a gas axe to them, I wonder if we'll have a thread bemoaning "locos being scrapped", and being desperately asking the "they" department to save them all...
