Smack on time through my home station of Dolau at around 11.20am, just as well as it was blowing a gale and not that warm! Image taken from farm crossing (legal side) of the pair storming away from the restriction at Dolau station. The sun had been out only 15 mins before :(

Looks as Spring hasn't yet sprung.

    Great shots.

I am clueless about photography to make any informed comment. But I do like the steam and industry shot. Its a bit different. Steam with its sleeves rolled up running through what's left of South Wales with its sleeves rolled up!! I saw them a few minutes later having a good go at Stormy bank and on time. I felt a bit for the passengers though as the weather was pretty atrocious and had been most of the day.

Thanks very much - I go to Swansea occasionally so had this shot in mind for a few months. The chance to photograph steam in an industrial setting is hard!

The railtour ran with steam to Newport after all. Due to engineering work, the stop at Pengam was not possible and so the train continued to Alexander Dock Jct. at Newport. After the steam locos were taken off the railtour they ran light engine and support coach to Barry. <BJ>

Some nice footage there. Really annoyed I didn't make the effort now but the weather forecast gave heavy rain from the word go and 170 miles is a long way to go just to get wet. Weathermen wrong as usual by the look of it though.

Thanks both of you. I had seen the forecast and nearly didn't bother but I'm glad I did.
