Just curious about the ongoing cob works, the low concrete wall on the seaward side of the cob. I have no idea how deep it is below the top surface, do I take it that a new section is going to be made on the new seaward edge and the old broken out back to where the widening starts?

I think it would be fair to assume that wall will be removed! I have to confess, Andrew's time-lapse updates are compulsive viewing! It looks like all the granite wave protection is now in place and the top surface is being dressed. Track soon?

Old wave wall will be removed and a new one constructed after the widened section has had time to settle - probably in the autumn. The new king point can't be installed until then as there isn't room. Today's vid might be the last full-length one. Basically just tidying up today, with a few last armour stones being placed.

 

Hi Andrew, the cobcam has been epic, now that the 1st phase is over will the webcam be going back to normal?

I couldn't help noticing that the archive footage actualy showed Michael at "Dinorwic".
Interesting though.

 

I'm sure that Iorwerth would have forgiven the the relevant TV Researchers the error. After all, his wish was to see the Fourth Lord steam again. Now, I wonder what the next rebuild in the TLC will be?

Without wishing to be immodest, the launch event was the work of the F&WHR, as was all the media coverage, including locating the three ex-Penrhyn drivers.
