    No, it wasn't the 'epitomy of perfection' but did remarkably well under the restrictions placed upon it and did it for much less money.

    In fact if all the governments since Nationalization had allowed BR to lease its trains rather than having to buy them it would have done even better! At least the BRB were not busy paying themselves obscene bonuses without any form of justification.

    I think your sarcasm was quite evident but the nationalised BR did a great job given the constraints placed on it by successive governments but particularly Tory ones.
