I am extremely surprised that no-one else has mentioned the fact so far, but 'Tornado' appears to have be repainted back into its original GREY livery.
Don't believe me?? Well, have a ganders at Page 47 of the latest issue of the "Illustrated Monthly Brian Sharpe"! :jaw:

Indeed, I suspect this is a really bad attempt at trolling as I saw it in BR Green at York on Monday

It was green last Sunday and looks like it still green on Tuesday judging by someone else's photo:

The OP could be referring to a particularly poorly reproduced picture in one of the mags although I've no idea to which one he's referring when mentioning the "Illustrated Monthly Brian Sharpe".

Well ask yourself which mag Brian works for! To be fair thepic looks like it was taken on rather a grey day, and after the loco had done a lot of work, going by the thick looking layer of char on the boiler top.

I think what may have been an attempt at humour has rather missed its targets

Would it be cynical of me to suggest someone has made a controversial point about a pic in a mag in the hope we all pick up a copy to see for ourselves ?.

Just goes to show what dull, flat light can do to an image. Compared with the photo on the previous page where the loco is positively shimmering green - full marks to the support crew for bulling her up so well.
