I see railstaging Timetables has gone the same way as that other timetable website no longer publishing charter times
So much for freedom of information in this country

Yes it's a pity, but not unexpected. If these sites stop showing the information that isn't on the national rail website they might as well shut up shop.

Not really a suprise im afraid, we all know the reasons the first site of this type went west, presumably it's the same 'issues' that have killed the interesting bits of this one, just going with the standard passenger timetable is a waste of time, no one goes out for plastic units.

Regarding charters in particular, I was given to understand a TOC expressed concern that "unfinished" paths/timings were availible for all to see.

As More on freight times | blog.opentraintimes.com goes some way to explain, there isn't a clear policy statement from Network Rail on whether freight times are "public" or not. I could put them back on the site, but that might cause NR to make a knee-jerk reaction and make their policy "no". Giving them time - and really, there's no actual rush here - will let discussions happen and hopefully the policy will be "yes".

In response to sowerbylad's comment - why should I shut up shop? There's a heck of a lot more to do - we're at the tip of the iceberg.

Looks like WC (but not DBS or DRS) charters are back on this site.
