I know that some people get cross on here whenever the topic of loco rosters is raised, but the Watercress website roster is out of date and, well, if it could be updated, it would certainly bring in a little extra revenue as it would enable me to plan a couple of visits over the next few weeks! Thanks!

Yes, the roster has been slow to be updated recently. Black 5 was in steam yesterday, the VSOE was at Alresford with Royal Sovereign (class 67) on the front. I think it is at Ropley today for a photoshoot

Also a bit odd that there is no mention of Cheltenham arriving last week either.

Possibly because "Cheltenham "is not on the roster?

I think he meant on the site in general in the "Latest News"
Cheltenham's tender was at Wimbledon depot for wheel turning, don't know if that has returned also...

The tender was in the yard last Thursday though that was before of after it went to Wimbledon I am not sure.

    Many thanks.
In all seriousness, that roster will bring in 3 visits from me, two on my own and one with 3 friends. So that's got to be £200+ revenue between tickets, refreshments and shop. Every little helps!
Without the roster, places like Osborne House, Kingston Lacey etc would have had the business instead.

When I saw this I (and possibly others) reminded MHR Marketing to update the web site - it was done within 24 hours. If anyone on the forum spots the need for an update, try using the MHR websites railmail to gently contact Marketing and request an update - it may save a bit of time.

Just read an interesting snippet on one of the Bluebell threads - 92212 is coming back for the Gala in September, then uggering off back again to the Bluebell for a year!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to start getting serious withdrawal symptoms - I LIKE 9F's!

Fingers crossed nothing goes pear shaped with the rest of the home fleet, as I see 45379 is off on a few more jollies, and from this can we safely assume that she will come back from one of these facing out of Alresford - seeing how the U boat will face out of Alton upon return from the SVR?.....................

I understand that we have the option to bring back the 9F if we're short with the home fleet.

Yes just Wadebridge facing London for a while! 30506 is London facing too and will be in service early next year perhaps?
As for general motive power availability in late 2012/early 2013 Cheltenham will be available after September one hopes -plenty of power, hope it can cope with with Santa services though....mind you I can see her being used on the Belle a fair bit. Would be good to see the Black 5 turned, as a photographer it gives you more chances. Nelson has had a bit of an epiphany and become very reliable of late - someone told me it was because the crews had finally sussed out the best way to fire her (always seems strange calling Lord Nelson her!)

Longer term 76017 and 34105 progressing, I assume the aim is to get at least one of them finished before the U leaves, 76017 being the obvious choice.

I see also from this months Heritage Railway that "Cheltenham " is also going on holiday, this time to the GCR Autumn Gala. At this rate we will be running service trains with bl**dy diesels. I guess though it all brings an income into the Railway and of course this maybe part of the agreement with the NRM?

With 45379, and 925 off on hire to other Preserved lines I wonder how long the visitors (777, 825) to the MHR are staying for? I hope 777 stays at Ropley for a while. A separate weekend with 777 and 850 working services would be a nice bonus.

    Oi!!! No swearing.....................:tape: :censored: :censored:

Something tells me not..................................... though it would be nice, but I think it may have something to do with the way Nellie is facing :eek:hwell: BUT as she is 'new' to the heritage scene, she is going to be in demand from other lines - so hopefully next year she may return from one of her jollies ( and in time for one of our galas) to be facing smokebox out of Alresford!
