The 8F is master of the job, especially in the prevailing conditions.

It seems as though the 8f will be getting at least half or the bulk of the Fellsman outings this year. Also it seems as though 46115 shall be based in York for at least half of the Waverly's and Scarborough Spa runs. How 44932 fits into this puzzle remains to be seen. Sounds like a good plan if that is the case.

    These are just my thoughts.

Please forgive me for saying it, but precisely where were "photographers at the lineside" specifically referred to???

They were, as you correctly observe, not specifically referred to, but as your post says "I, for one, won't be bothering with it!" that surely infers that photographers such as yourself will not be out photographing the train as the observation coach 'spoils' the shot.

Im curious how a GWR saloon spoils things if your actually travelling ?.

Inauthentic as it may be, it's nice to see something other than MK1/2's occasionally.

Not usually a linesider, maybe once a year - much prefer 'bashing' - but the sun was out here in Liverpool, there were fluffy white clouds in the sky, so I thought, long time since I've been to the S&C linesiding, might get some good landscape phots in as well as 48151. So, off I went......
