Shows how dull the modern scene is that we're interested in going to see a HST off region (myself included).

Black country museum is a real gem! Discovered it three years ago. It's worth the queue at the chippy, and the beer in the pub is superb. I had my first trolleybus ride for about 50 years here. I really hope you enjoy your visit. Loads of photo opportunities.

I'll echo cymroglan's comments - the Black Country Museum really is a wonderful day's out and step back in time. Not quite on the same scale as Beamish - especially from a steam perspective - but just as good. The chippy really is superb!

It's been years since I've been but I enjoyed it last time, having to push the Barge through the Canal tunnel with feet on the roof/wall sticks out as the main memory, and those tunnels are like a maze anyway.

If only I had noticed this thread before, I might have known what was going on when a EMT HST appeared apparently out of the blue at kiddy mainline.
It's return to kiddy was good for photos as it came into view along with D1062 doing a long winded run round due to a problem with the points on 1EL.

I didn't realise when you asked me KJE, but when I proppelled out of Kidder, the HST was stood on Junction Box's down goods.
