This is the third in our recent ventures with our pair of mainline Panniers. There was some feedback from the last trip that you wanted more stops to get off, stretch your legs and take photo’s in a slightly more picturesque place than Birmingham International!

This time we start from Tyseley (Mainline) Station (you can park at the Vintage Trains car-park a- it’s a very short stroll up the hill) and head towards Stratford down the North Warks line. Here we will run-round and water (approx 45 mins) so time for a photo or two.

Next we head back through Birmingham (stopping outside our yard for water) and onwards to Worcester Shrub Hill where we run-round and service the engines – more photo’s!

As a grand finale, we are going to attack the Lickey, then back to Tyseley Warwick Road to end the day. We might come up with a surprise or two on the day, but you will just have to wait and see!

Thanks Ben, it just makes the planning a bit easier if there is a sensible start time, albeit estimated.

OK so I'll start the ball rolling and get my name down for this one, an NP day out.

I will if I can. I've just been pleading with work to give me the weekend of the SVR Autumn gala off so I don't want to start pressing them again just yet.

very interesting indeed, if you're talking double headed panniers, I will move heaven and earth to be there, come on people, lets hear your voice, they seemed to be very popular recently, why so few posts.

ok I just noticed there is already a thread, but this is a Nat Pres day out Idea, fair enough, sounds good to me.

I think it will depend on the number of bookings, hopefully Ben will see that all NP members are together if we request this.

Sorry all - I think I must have been asleep.

There is now a Nat Pres coach on this train - it will be the TSO closest to the Buffet. I will do my best to make sure that you are as close to the Panniers as poss for the climb up the Lickey.

Make sure you say you want to be in the Nat Pres coach when you book! That way, when we know you are all in one place, I will get all the other tour operators together, loch the doors and we can have a good old-fashioned punch up! Lol

Seriously, I will make sure you are looked after.

    Cheers!

    Ben

For those that live down London way, there is a Chiltern service that departs Marylebone at 7am and connects in Solihull with a London Midland service that arrives at Tyseley at 9:03am.

We have modified the Special Train Request so that we depart TYS after this train arrives.

As for getting back “down south”, there are quite a few trains leaving TYS around 7pm-ish.

    I hope this helps!
