60009 or 46233 on the Flyer this Friday? Either will round off a great weeks holiday. Trip to the seaside behind steam, ice cream, bucket and spade.

Don't know about tomorrow, but have just got my ticket for next week (3rd August) and it says the train will be hauled by 60009.

Serious prep work ready for tomorrow. 60009 also being worked on but not in steam, most likely for Monday.

Not 60009's first trip down the Calder valley in preservation. Did an ecs Castleton to York one Sunday a few years back. Followed a tour from Manchester Vic to Carlisle & return the previous day. Think it's on my YouTube channel.

RTC wesite changed now to include 60009 on the flyer & 70013 removed :-

steam locomotives to be used on this day trip come from the following pool:
No. 46233 “Duchess of Sutherland” Princess Coronation Class ‘Pacific’ 4-6-2 built by the LMSR at Crewe in 1938, for use on express passenger trains now in B.R.Green livery. No. 45305 Black ‘5’ 4-6-0, built for the LMSR by Armstrong-Whitworth of Newcastle-on-Tyne in 1936, a ‘mixed traffic’ locomotive for use on passenger and freight trains. No. 60009 LNER Class A4 Pacific built at Doncaster

Forgot, 60009 also out Sunday on the Liverpool starting NWCE.
If all they have to do is some cleaning surely that is a good sign.

On 60009 they were putting back a 'plug' that was on the drivers side, but high up just in front of the cab, what's that for.?

I'm told we are in coach J tomorrow. Whole coach booked by our group of oap's. Presume this will be farthest from the loco on the outward leg? Brighouse platform not very long by all accounts.

Beautiful sunny morning here in Sowerby Bridge. What a difference from last week. Ready for a superb trip to and day out in Scarborough. Thanks for the info on Brighouse station.
    What's the motive power? ;-)
