Posted on NYMR forum this evening :-

60007 SNG was last seen late this afternoon on 4 road with warming fire, the information I was given was that the repair has been completed and now just needs testing.

    Re: Crewe overhauls - 60009

What you on about mate? Nothing wrong with middle cylinder. Do you mean middle valve? That was fixed weeks ago when we did the stays. Not a big problem anyway.

If that is so why does the members area of the Trust's website say it requires assessment and further work?

60007 back in service today, hopefully the injector problems are now resolved.

So you are talking about the valves then. From what I see says "may" need more works on SNGLPT page, you sounded certain of more issues. Shouldn't mislead people like that. In fact Rog says its OK.

Oh well if he says its O.K. then why are the trust misleading their members?

I think you have come on here as a troll.
New member, 4th. post 3 trying to have a go at me when i am just reporting the situation as seen from the Trusts website.

I have to comment on this highly contentious accusation. How has the Trust been misleading Members? From what I see comments by Mr 75029 are basically correct - so who is misleading people? The Trust takes communication with our Members very seriously. If Members have queries about the locomotive or any aspect of the operation of the Trust, we always respond to Members enquiries (I know because it’s me who does it). Are you even a Member? I doubt it, all the Members that I have been in contact with have been very supportive given our well documented problems with tubes, valve liner and firebox over the last two years. If indeed you are a member then feel free to contact me at: Chairman@sirnigelgresley.org.uk to discuss any concerns. All I ask is that if you’re not known to me personally you state your name and membership number. If you are indeed a member and have genuine concerns you have my personal guarantee they will be investigated and a response given. If you agree I am happy to make any response public, the Trust has absolutely nothing to hide and absolutely has not been misleading anybody.

    Nigel Wilson
    Chairman SNGLPT/A4LS.

Nigel, now we know your name that you have never made available to those on this forum, I was not accusing the trust of misleading, I as sorry that you did not correspond that it was an ironic response to 75020.

If all the middle cylinder problem, and the others are fully resolved (and I most sincerely hope they are) please just update the members area of the website to reflect the CURRENT situation.

Really, despite what has appeared in Chime and on the website communication has been rather slow, not helped by one of your team telling different stories to different people depending upon his view on the day.

    Apology accepted.

Just to be clear the Trust has a responsibility to update its Members, not this Forum. We do use Facebook to interact with Members (and non Members) as that has a certain degree of accountability for who is posting comments - which tends to cut down on the miss information.

The reason information may sometime appear slow is because rumour and gossip runs ahead of fact. We correct what we can but it pointless to even try and quash every rumour. What is posted to Members is fact, not fiction and that is the key point.

Thank you to all the many folks who sent PM supporting the loco and the Trust, I may not be able to answer you all individually.

    Nigel.

Just FYI: A full member’s update was posted yesterday, including confirmation that the test run with the reset valve gear was satisfactory.

Actually, Nigel it was not an apology., it was pointing out that you had not comprehended.

Also, as a matter of fact, it is not just the members you have to update. It is bad enough that the members get little and infrequent information but in your role as a charitable trust and as you received HLF funding you have a duty to make the information freely available to the public, and your website would reasonably be considered the ideal medium.

The fact that you do not keep the general website updated could be considered as your failing in this key area, which in extreme circumstances could see the trust stripped of it's charitable status.

It's nice to have people on this Forum happy to put everyone else straight on their responsibilities. Not certain that self righteousness and general tetchyness really should have much place here...but I guess it takes all sorts...Main point - it's good to hear that No 7 is back in action.

So pleased SNG is back up and running again. I'm sure it's been a very hard and heartbreaking few months for all concerned. Let's hope things are on the up!

Looking forward to seeing SNG when I attend the NYMR's AGM at Pickering a week on Saturday.

From information received off thread it would, At this point I believe it would be wise to move on in this discussion,
It is not in anyones interest to pursue a dispute between members / ex-members of SNGPT publicly.
