Left Taunton bang on time, both locos "steam on" I've just passed it on the Tiverton loop where it was taking water. Plan to see it again at Newton Abbott. There is a late running FGW Paignton behind it though !

Quite, and there's at least one flange greaser on Dainton, probably more sets over all 4 banks too.

Suspect the Devon NP contingent would of stayed out for the return leg before coming back home to post here.

Sorry for lack of updates but it was such a nice evening that there was no need to rush home.
These are the messages from SWRG we received while we were waiting for the 'G&T' duo.
Newton Abbot 6 early, Cockwood OT, Exeter 2 late, Bridgwater 1 late and Worle OT.
The Duke and Tornado hammered past us at Cogload Jct approx right time.
Considering the speed of the train, the locomotives were very quiet !! <BJ>

I was on this trip and the locos performed magnificent, bascially running to time, was held in the morning through dawlish due to a local stopper i believe plus also on the return we were scheduled to stop in Dawlish Warren so no speed for the spectatures unfortunately, a big thank you must go to the Tornado staff, crew, tea lady eveyone really for getting her ready to partner the Duke, could tell they were rushed as Tornado was a little grubby, being at the back of the train we could hear too well on the morning climbs but the return was wonderful up Hemerdon, Dainton and Whiteball.

Yep, it was a wonderful run, with long stretches of high speed running. Well done to all involved.
