A bit wild out there today, was going to go to Stainforth and after seeing Phils video in sunshine I wish I had.

However Garsdale it was and then back home to watch some sporting history, one two on "The Tour" and Cavendish first again on the final stage, what a team. :first:

Waverley is a paddle steamer - The Waverley is a named express of yore recalled in a modern excursion itinerary

I though the paddle steamer was called "PS Waverley". "Waverley" is a novel by Sir Walter Scott.

No, the ship's name is 'Waverley'. The prefix PS simply indicates what her propulsion is, in this case Paddle Steamer. Others are MV, which is Motor Ship (ie diesel); SS, which is Steam Ship. Steam turbine ships are sometimes prefixed TSS; that dates from the time when there were still many reciprocating engine steam ships about.

Then you have RMS, which was given, regardless of propulsion type, to ships which carried Royal Mail cargo, such as those on the South Africa run, RMS Windsor Castle, RMS Pendennis Castle etc

Titanic was RMS too, of course, as were most of the British trans-Atlantic liners

Can we assume that 46115 will be on this Sunday (5/8) as 44932 has worked the Scarborough Spa Express or is this rostering much more unpredictable?
