Just to confirm #1. It's Tangmere down and Oliver Cromwell back on the DCE, so the RTC information says. Let's hope Ollie doesn't get overstretched in Devon on the banks as we need it for a bit of climbing out of Weymouth, Poole and Eastleigh.

71000 Duke of Gloucester in steam at Barton Hill depot this morning.
Air brake system being checked so possibly a FTR exam in progress.

Sadly Tornado still sat idle. What a waste. <BJ>

I don't suppose anyone is aware of any times for the l/e movement to Eastleigh tomorrow? It would make a nice introduction to my film on Wednesday of 71000 :)

I will try and post updates on here (if I remember!) from Wednesday to make up for all the questions I have asked on this thread! :p

    Thanks in advance :)

Thanks to everyone who PM'd me. I really appreciate it. I understand a 66/67 will take the engine from Barton Hill to Eastleigh :rolleyes1:

Outline timings from Barton Hill - Salisbury are:

    Barton Hill 11:05
    Bristol Temple Meads 11:12 - 11:14
    Bath Spa 11:29
    Westbury 11:50
Salisbury 12:37 - 13:07 (presume for water, but if there is a box... is there a need for the stop?)

    Ta nat37670 and free2grice :)

Could possibly be a pathing stop at Salisbury James??
I've not had much access to internet for past few days and had been wondering about the DCE workings myself. I thought Tangers was at Yeovil after the last DCE a few weeks ago but she may have moved from there and I did not pick up on it. Dick.

Just found info on another thread that Tangers is at Southall -so that would make sense for Tangers to lead the DCE down and Cromwell to return it. Must have missed any news of Tangers moving from Yeovil (or forgotten!) Dick

Hmm... could be I suppose :)

34067 moved back to Southall the day after the last DCE. It was kept quiet until after the movement.

The DCE with the RTC and two steam locomotives, including steam banking steam on the main line. This really is a good offer that I plan to enjoy on Wednesday. It's such a shame that the RTC has had to cancel a few of these because they couldn't guarantee steam each way. So despite the 'pool' idea, things haven't turned out as planned even though this is not a new package or route.

Let's hope that any key people who may read the 'Unified Voice' thread can pick out the best of the comments and make it all work better next year.....please.

Just looked at the weather for tomorrow... oh dear! The morning looks awful, the evening slightly better. The shots tomorrow morning could be restricted to stations or places with a roof, I fear.

If you believe the local Beeb news (South Today), it will be raining for the rest of the week. However, if you watch the national news (BBC, Sky etc...) it reckons that it will clear up in time. To be honest, I would believe the national news over the local news (and is normally more accurate than the local!).

Should be a good day regardless, look forward to meeting some of you at Upton Scudamore :)

Weather forecast for Poole area seems to be fairly consistent that it will be wet in the morning for about 4 hours (poss a little longer) from 0800 onwards and then brighter and clearer for rest of day - we shall see! Brolly coat and leggings at the ready!! Dick

As James has reported 71000 came off at Eastleigh - various reports on WRGEN say she was on time arriving but obviously problems found after arrival. Fraid the gremlins seem to have hit the Duke, which is a shame as she was going well on the ECS accelerating nicely down from Branksome and then she absolutely romped up Parkstone Bank with load 8 on. No ideas as to the problem as yet that I have seen.

Tangers reported 1 minute early at Eastleigh with down DCE (ta Ian on WRGEN)

Hope you got a good recording of 4464 at Wokingham James - looking forward to hearing it if you did

    Dick
