An unexpected visit to the see the Quack prevented me from getting to Swanage unfortunately, but I'm still on the look out over the next couple of weeks for 34028 or 34070.

It is likely to be either 53 or 34028 that enters traffic in place of 80104 on Wednesday.

As Ady says, both 34028 and 34070 will definitely be in use together at the gala, I'll continue to post details of what's in traffic day-to-day.

Unlikely I'll be able to get to the gala this year unfortunately. Mind you, I do enjoy the normal running days when there are fewer enthusiasts about, in fact I always enjoy a visit to Swanage. If 34028 is out I should be able to get there on Thursday.
    Thanks guys.

    Regards,

    Paul

It looks like you're in luck Paul; 34028 is on steam test today ready for entering service tomorrow in place of 80104.

Tomorrow I've got 2 trips on 6695 first thing, then 1 on 34028 and a further one on 6695; say hello if you're around. Thursday I'll be in the Ops office, let me know what time you're about and I'll say hello.

A really good video, thank you for posting; it certainly shows the 'train in the landscape' aspect of the SR very well, and shows why the Observation Car is so popular!

From tomorrow until Thursday it will be 53 and 6695 in traffic. On Friday we go back from 2 steam locos in service to one steam and the DMU, apart from Sunday when 6695 will replace the DMU.
