34053 and 1501 were top and tailing the set off Bridgnorth today, which I believe means that 1501 has hauled her first passenger turns since overhaul.

Any news on 1501? Has it entered traffic as planned?

Sounds like a busy week ahead to get all the engines ready. Is 3650 taking part in the gala, if fit?

I've read on the SVRA forum not.

Also from the forum "there is a crack in the top left front face of the cylinder, where the front cover bolts on. It is clearly historic. The metal is quite thin there, as the steam/exhaust ports are just behind." A second post reads "The repair using the metal stitching technique started Monday. The chap doing the job said it was a straightforward job"

Edit: SVR Engineering Twitter adds "3650 also on W+ Exam next week after repairs".

If 3650 is still there and steamable then why not? Would seem a bit unusual not to considering the help it has given the SVR this summer, would be a nice send off for it. Plus I haven't been able to get over for a ride behind it!!

I heard that it may be visiting the Bluebell at some point in the next few weeks, whether true or not Im not sure but if it aint fit, then it probably wont happen anymore.

But it is fit - it's been fixed. Straightforward job and all that.

Rumour mill here is that she was due to come to cover a period when 592 and B473 both needed washouts but didn't because of the cylinder problem, but may still come for a few weeks once / now that problem is fixed.

Now 1501 and 34053 are in traffic and the problems have (hopefully!) been resolved with 2857 and 42968, what are the next SVR loco projects to be completed? I presume 7714 and 34027. Have I missed any others?

813 is continuing apace. 6634 is held up by delays in the boiler at LNWR Crewe. Currently sat in Bridgnorth yard under a tarp looking sorry for itself.

...Or even the boilershop chaps collectively takes a deep breath and call in the boiler from 75069 for repair. Currently stood in the "too difficult" siding.....

And there is 45110 awaiting its turn.
