Let Pilkie take you for a quick look at it.... This was taken last weekend. They are now about 100yards further with the railhead.

Station will be a couple of hundred yards from the main street. About 3 -5 minutes at the most.

Did everyone who visited SSS3 enjoy a ride up the first half of the extension?

It's a lovely journey...very scenic! Cannot wait to be on the train into Corwen in the not so distant future!

    Thanks,
    Lewis

Has there been any recent progress with the extension, or is it now on hold until further funds become available?

If I recall, the large amount of funding required for the final Corwen terminal is not, so much, for the terminal itself. It is for groundworks on the land in the immediate area of the terminal. Is it something to do with the flood plain?

The only realistic solution to the Corwen station problem is to get the old station site back . The platforms are pretty intact - just infilled between them, & the main building partly survives together with the station forecourt. The site is only used by (& presumably owned by) Ivor Williams as a show area for trailers.
It would be a much better arrangement if the Welsh government would fund a new rail overbridge at Green Lane (just past the proposed station) & the purchase of the original station site. The railway would then not need to affect the flood plain.

Perhaps I may be wrong but wasn't there a major fire at the Ivor williams site recently ?? If so was it in any of the old railway buildings.

You are correct, but wrong location. It was one of the companies factories on the Deeside industrial park.

They only use the station as a show room.
