I'm booked on the 27/10 Hadrian as well as the Weardale trip, so am not happy with this news - hopefully we'll get a sitrep from RTC soon

Does anyone knwo the latest regarding the industrial action which is affecting DBS? seems there are more SD trips cancelled than what are running, surely with Xmas fast approaching this will not bode well with people intending to book seats and indeed how long can SD continue to operate at a profit if their schedules are so greatly reduced?

    Thanks

    Jim

What about the loco owners, no cash coming in due to cancellations, no money for repairs etc, wont matter whether or not the toc's operate

THERE ARE OTHER COMPANIES BESIDES STEAM DREAMS!

THE WHOLE INDUSTRY WILL NOT FAIL JUST BECAUSE STEAM DREAMS CANNOT RUN TRAINS FOR A MONTH OR SO!

Has the Thanet Belle (4/10) been pulled? If so then this must be a good example of a phantom train as I think it's not run more times than run.

So 60163, 71000 and those engines in the Jeremy Hosking stable of which only 71000 and 60163 are DBS specific

Can anyone confirm whether this weekend's Cathedrals Express' to Kingswear are running or not? Am hearing different things from various people and cannot decide who to go with! Someone's saying they are cancelled due to more issues within DBS, some saying SD have pulled them due to issues with the timings given to them by NR and others saying they will run as scheduled...

    Help!

I have replied to all contacts asking if I can use their names as sources, so will edit accordingly if they get back to me saying yes or no.

I see 2 or 3 replies to this post, including one from myself, have been "pulled" without explanation. Any mods like to comment please?
Didn't think there was anything untoward in them, mainly light hearted.

I expect the old hands have had this conversation before but : in a situation where there is a marketing company, a TOC, a loco provider, a rolling stock provider, Network Rail providing the path and ancillary services like catering, in a situation where one link in the chain, in this case the toc, is unable to do its bit, what do the contracts say? Does anyone know for sure and are they able to say on a public forum? Seems to me without that everything is speculative.

The posts were pulled because we felt that some were not contributing anything valid to the thread, when they were removed the others did not make sense. Yes the mod who did this should have commented, but he is not available at the moment so I don't know why he did not do this.
