Looks like something has happened at the groundframe at the south end of Broomhill loop. For those not familiar with the operation at Broomhill, the train runs through the station and straight into a loop on the north side of the station. The engine uncouples, reverses through a set of spring-operated points and then proceeds on the authority of a ground-frame operator back onto the mainline and then on to the stock. The train then draws forward into the station where the passengers can alight.

The photograph is taken from the A95 looking down on to Broomhill loop and the 2nd last coach is opposite the ground frame. Obviously the derailment has taken place earlier.

A hundred passengers! Sounds like they should consider shortening their set to reduce wear and tear!

Different story for a different day on that one. As Neil said, somethings happened at the South groundframe as the RU went over. A pic a passerby has put up on Facebook shows it better and its the rear bogie of the RU/ leading of the BSK thats in the ballast. I'm sure all will come to light in time. This is the only derailment I think over that they've had.
