Anyone on this? I've not managed a trip since the SD Weymouth epic, so looking forward to it. Had times and tickets last week but see there is still nothing up on UK Steam info with todays update.

On time at Ingatestone and looking great in the autumn Essex countryside. It didn't seem to be working as hard as I have seen 70013 on that stretch of line and notice it had a diesel attached.

Left Harlow about 15 minutes down, with two big Wheelspins. Britannia looked a treat

On time back at Liverpool street. Great running all day. Diesel was shut down all day(benefit of air braking). shame they had to turn the entire train but still nice and loud at the back. Stock excellent, more like this please!

Sorry I could not help, only just got in and read your post. I'll go along with other posts and say the running was excellent today. The light around Ely was wonderful and I'd love to see any video shot in those conditions. I'll post a shot or two tomorrow taken from the train.

Sounds like an example of the use of an attached diesel for convenience in facilitating stock movement. At least with a short train and the equivalent of 13 behind the tender the load would have remained within the Brit's capability. It seems that UKRT is not afraid to 'play the DL card'. One wonders whether their next steam trip in December with Clan Line will use the same tactic - i.e. to use a DL for a reversal at Foxhall Junction (as per OE practice) and thereby make life a lot easier at Oxford. We shall see.

It's the turning of the whole train that stops me from booking certain trips as I'm not prepared to risk my hard earned cash on being stuck at the back all day.

Thanks for the favourable comment. The inclusion of the boat was deliberate, because it was covered with gulls when I started the shot. Unfortunately the arrival of Britannia scared them all off!

The camera is a Sony CX700VE which is just over 12 months old.
