Are there confirmed details of the night shoot yet, can I ask based on the pictures seen from the last one that the shed lights were on resulting in these shining directly into the lens. Are you able to confirm these will be turned off and external tungsten lighting used. really would like to do this night shoot.

You will have all noted by now the timetables will be free of charge, this was following YOUR feedback, I hope you all approve.[/QUOTE]

Really good news, thanks to whoever sorted this out. Whilst I'm not attending this particular gala, it's a very real consideration as to attendance of future events.

    Regards

    JP

Further to hughesfowler's posting, I see from the KWVR website that (assuming the night shoot does go ahead) advance booking is required. However, no information on how to book is stated there.

Presumably, if and when a night shoot is confirmed, booking arrangements will be notified both on this site and on the Railway's site. Time is getting short so not much time for postal applications and acceptance/non-acceptance of booking notices to be sent out.

The lighting on the shed is sufficient without additional lights. Night photography doesn't work with uniform lighting, looks a bit odd and unnatural.

to be fair, i think the opportunity to turn the loco at Keighley resulted in a couple of runs to test the loco, prob the 'office' were not aware. But it WAS good.

Sorry this has taken so long but information now provided to station staff is that all normal fares will apply except for Day Rovers as priced on the web site. Concessionary fares will apply to members and others entitled to privilege rates. Hope this helps.

Yes it is. You just have to have some intelligence in order to use it.

How exactly do you get light on the front end of the engines when they are facing towards Oxenhope as are the spotlights mounted on the shed walls then?????

Also these lights are not (IIRC) tungsten bulbs (hence hughes fowlers query) & with the associated street lighting that filters around the place there is a distinct orange glow to the shed area. A bit of additional tungsten lighting balances out some of the orange glow as well as lighting the front of the engines giving a better scatter of light over the whole scene.

The organisor also thinks there is a need for additional lighting as the night shoot was at one point not confirmed due additional lighting not yet being source!

That an intelligent enough answer for you?
