The N7 is going for the 3 day gala and will then swap over with 6046 the following week.

Appears so yes, though she will return CVR in time for Santa season. During this time though CVR is only open Saturdays for Driver Exp, & then service trains on Sundays in October, and is completely shut in November.

6046 has passed its final insurance exam this afternoon, the final components for the air pump are being finished and all being well running in will take place throughout next week

A superb day out yesterday with 33021 (or should it be 33012 with that paint job :) ) and 33102.
Well done to the people who fixed '102 after it sulked around Consall on its first train.

I've just been told that the S160 has failed - anyone able to confirm this? If so, is it a serious problem or just a minor problem which is perhaps to be expected when a loco enters traffic.

Probably the latter, look at the teething troubles 34053 has had, rarely if ever does a steam loco work straight out the box.

Just received pictures of her working with the 33 down the line as her air pump is still to be fitted. Doesn't say she's failed, so presume you may have been informed of some 'teething' problems?

I've just had a look at the online timetable and am disappointed to see that it is in the 12-hour format. Can someone tell the CVR that railways changed to the 24-hour clock 47 years ago?

What?! We're not in mainland Europe yet. That's a strange thing to get annoyed about. How nice that someone is using language that people actually use in normal speech.

I didn't say annoyed, I said disappointed. The railways in general adopted the 24-hours clock 47 years ago but there are a few (and regrettably a few bus operators) that won't play the game. Near me there is a bus stop showing, for example, a Trent bus to Derby at 3.29pm followed by Wardle bus to Derby at 1550. This is what happens when one organisation decides to keep out of step with the others.

See Barry Doe's column in Rail or his website for the inanities of this practice.
