    Hi there,
thought people might like to know that for 2013 Little to Large Gala (26th/27th May), Austin Moss of Windmill Farm Railway has kindly agreed to bring his original 15in gauge Fairbourne loco 'Katie' along with a Fairbourne coach.
We are relaying a length of track in the station to dual gauge to allow us to give rides.
More details of other attractions nearer the time.

    Cheers
    Murray

    Hi Murray,
Do you mean the original Fairbourne "Katie" ie Heywood's 0-4-0 T or the Guest 2-4-2 "Katie" from the 60's ? Sorry not trying to be a smart a--e, just interested as I didn't think the former was finished yet. Best of luck with your Gala. Regards Ray.

    Ray,
Anthony is correct it is the Guest 2-4-2.
The coach is one of the iconic glass ended opens seen in so many pictures immediately behind the loco.

    Cheers

Bugger, I think I am expected to be with the family at EuroDisney or that may be the following week, as even though much else has changed it would bring back many memories seeing Katie at Fairbourne.

Also good to see that the railway has enough pennies to soldier on. With the Crisis Fund etc I had real concerns that the Fairbourne railway might not be around much longer

Interesting. Shame you can't get Twining back to the UK. Her, Sian, Katie and Count Louis would be an amazing sight back at Fairbourne. Think though that will be one sight consigned to the history books.

Very enjoyable day at Fairbourne on Sunday, with plenty of sunshine and "Katie" accompanied by one of the old glass-ended open carriages (minus glass) and "Gwril", the railway's old Lister auto-truck. Good to see all three of them back home and running again, even though the 15" gauge dual-gauge track only ran the length of the station site at Fairbourne. Also good to see "Sylvia" back in action looking more like her old self again, even if she has had a sex-change to become "Tony" ! Happily "Lilian Walter" is consigned to history.

The day ended with all the steam locos of both gauges lining up at the west end of the station site, with the drivers playing tunes on their whistles.

    Richard
