If anyone has any, I'd love to see some phots/video from the Kings Norton - New Street section, my Camera can't cope with rapid movement at night so coulden't attempt it myself.

Ah so you are the one with the floods, I wondered what they were all about as we climbed past, my on board footage will be up soon.
As has been said it was a great day out, good to see faces behind the names, but although wearing my NP sweatshirt I was a bit disappointed that more of you did not introduce yourselves.
Well done to all the Tyseley team and of course West Coast.

Hope you managed to survive you bustitution Neil...

Right I think I've sorted that minor glitch, my offering from Saturday.

Please note this video contains on board footage, if you find these unacceptable then it's best if you don't watch, for the rest enjoy the sight and sounds.
There are also some shots inside the NP coach of various 'members'.

The Lickey section was from the 6th coach so the sounds are a 'bit' muted, but not much........

Thanks for a good day out. Panniers were on top form and all the staff were very welcoming onboard. Think you'll be getting a booking for the 2 halls in the next couple of weeks, and a tour next year Ben hinted is also very tempting. Plus another trip with the Panniers if I can get the leave!

Got to say the hospitality showed by VT Stewards was spot on, not only were they trying to persuade us to buy souvenirs but they were joining in with conversations at the tables and added to the social side of things, which I've not always experienced on some railtours. Travelled with you guys multiple times now and still to have a bad trip. Looking forward to what you can bring to 2013.

Yes, an absolutely excellent day out. I add my thanks to all those who made it possible.
It was a pleasure sitting and chatting with RalphW and Neil (belle1), couldn't really have asked for better company, and I learnt quite a lot from them about various aspects of steam tours etc.
Thanks Ralph for not leaving your shot of me walking down the coach on the cutting room floor, perhaps it was my turn and wave at the end that clinched it (as if)!!
Also pleased to meet and have a few quick chats with Peter (camraman).
Like Ralph has hinted at, bit surprised that there wasn't more chatting with other members in the Nat Pres coach but that didn't detract from the day.
It was my first steam rail tour and it was thoroughly enjoyable. My wife asked if I'd go on other, I certainly would!!
Hope Ralph and Neil enjoyed their bus rides at the end of their trips home.
    Alan.

Hi Alan, good to meet you and yes a most enjoyable day, at New Street I found that my train was listed with no mention of bus, and it proved to be, no delays at all.
Oh yes there were a couple of comfort breaks!! The one and only toilet, on a 4 coach train, was out of order, several passengers complained to the Ticket collector/Guard so she arranged that at Wolverhampton and Crewe, the train would wait whilst those in urgent need could use the station facilities. A plus for her but a black mark for turning the stock out like that.

As to buses mine was from Crewe to Wigan, got back there at 10.50pm and home by 11.15 so not so bad really.
I am now booked on the trip with Lizzie on the 17th but there were no seats left in "enthusiast class" when I phoned this morning, just standard left now.

    Neil.

Only managed to catch the pair late on Saturday night but unfortunately I didnt have my video with me on the X-Ciy line. :-( Just out of interest though, it appears as though both Panniers ran to Worcester from Stratford bunker first. Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but isn't there a triangle at Worcester? Just wondered why it couldn't be used to ensure the locos were running smokebox first over most of the route? Don't get me wrong, the bunker first shots do have an atmosphere about them - just would have thought that, if the possibility would have been there, the locos would have ran smokebox first as much as possible.

Be careful - that left-hand bottle might have a crack in it. And what's a LNER beer doing with a copper cap?
