Steamlined Duchess on the move

The Steamlined Duchess , 6229 Duchess of Hamilton left York by Rail today being towed by Deltic 55002
for a visit to the Locomotion (NRM Shildon) along with its matching support coach .

an amazing site to see as it left York this morning.

 

Amazing indeed. Does anybody know if it arrived OK?..............those Deltics can get a bit carried away on the racing stretch north of York, it's their old stamping ground. :wof:

looks ok with Maroon mark 1's behind.

Well it did have matching stock, a Stanier brake no less (when was the last time A stanier coach was on the mainline? Miserable weather, but a couple more shots can be found here: 55002 return to the mainline - a set on Flickr

Nice shots. A rake of Staniers would be nice but from those shots I'd say the MkII actually jars less than the MkI

 

I need to be careful what I say, I will be in West Yorkshire next week and know how some Yorkshire men like their Deltics

I'd love to see one of those streamlined Stanniers in steam, I never saw one in their heyday.
