1898 built Met No.1 hauled 3 coaches the full length of the Avon Valley Railway today during testing of the locomotive.
Less than a mile away 70000 'Britannia' passed through Saltford en route from Southall to Barton Hill. <BJ>

Very nice photos. I believe the loco is at the Avon Valley Railway until Monday. <BJ>

Met No.1 about to leave the AVR. The driver of the Alleys Group transporter told me the loco is en route to the SVR. <BJ>

Keep your fingers crossed. I got the impression that they weren't done with the calls yet, and also that not everyone was saying yes.

22.40 (?????) on the 20th. So looks like work will have to manage without me Monday morning...

Hmmm, so they are still making calls then. Fingers crossed my dad, my sister or myself get a call within the next few days!

    Re: LU 150 plans...

Apologies if it's mentioned elsewhere and I've missed it, but looking at the tickets people are getting, are these all late evening runs then ?, was thinking about coming down to witness the event, but if those times are typical, it will be difficult without an overnight stay.

$64,000 question - will Joe Public be allowed onto the stations to see these go past?

According to the reports in the latest Steam Railway, yes we are, provided one holds a valid ticket for LU. Flash photography is prohibited and the Transport Police will step in if they think platforms are getting overcrowded.

Thanks. Get there very early is the answer then and time to get a new DSLR with a very high ISO capability methinks.

    Re: LU 150 plans...

There is only 1 day time out / back trip in daylight on the 13th (i.e. a recreation of the original train) put on for various VIPs etc.
All the rest are later evening runs.
SR states that platforms will be open to the public for viewing the train along the route (for ordinary LUL ticket holders), but the BTP will control numbers of people, and restrict access if it's too busy.. but also reminds flash photography is banned.

Hmmm, looks like January isn't going to be the cheap month I expected it to be. Booked on 20.10 from Moorgate on 13th!
