Did someone take a request for it to match Braunton's livery a little too literally?

I think the Black 5 that was wallpapered for a TV ad in the 70s would be a good partner!

Presumably test runs will be required before she takes main line trains. It will be worth the wait.

Oberlokfuhrer - Do you have a source for that 'whisper' or is it just a rumour with no factual grounding?

Re: 34046 Braunton - Health check

Braunton is moving on Monday 17th Dec 2012 from Bury Lancs to Carnforth, all being well she will do a test run from Carnforth back to Carnforth if successful will be able to take up the scheduled trips that week.

Re: 34046 Braunton - Health check

    From the works via facebook

Hope he doesn't mind me reposting this here.. But Riley has posted on his forum the following about 34046:

'34046 is in the works yard this evening, in steam, the safety valves just had their final setting and the Insurance boiler surveyor having witnessed setting of same.

A million and one 'snagging' jobs now underway.......and hopefully commencement of 'running in'

I see news of the test runs has been publicised on another forum......whilst we will plug away at getting the loco to 'Riley' standard....publicising test runs at this stage is just tempting fate....and yes, I am very superstitious!...;)'

I see that the times have now been removed from the Prestion Station Site, "At the request of the TOC"

Times for the move were on the Preston Station site but have since been removed 'at the request of the TOC'.

There seems to be a path booked , however whether it is taken up depends on any remedial matter and getting miles under her belt on the ELR . We wish Ian and his team well with their endeavours , until she comes out , we won't know

Probably unlikley, but it would be a nice finish of her miles at the ELR if she were to stick around for the gala in a month's time

Should the test run(s) and the 2 Cathedral Express Runs occur, what a great finale to year 2012! Really
