I'm waiting for the 1T57 recreation to appear, although I'm booked on the Wansbeck already.

I suppose one exception could've been made for The Royal Train?

So far for Sussex the only tour from RTC is a Royal Wessex on June 1st that starts at Littlehampton which travels up the Brighton Line stopping at Worthing, Hove, Preston Park, Haywards Heath and Three Bridges (the usual stops on the Bath and Bristol tours) up to Acton then down to Weymouth. The problem is that its diesel hauled from Littlehampton to Acton when 34046 takes over.

It'd be nice if we do get some more Bath and Bristol's and hopefully have 34046 on at least one of them. Mind you compared to normal the last Bath and Bristol that picked up at Haywards Heath earlier in the month didn't have so many passengers join it. Though I guess with the Bluebell opening to East Grinstead in 2013 then perhaps that might explain a lack of tours in Sussex listed at the moment.

Also while looking there seem to be a few Canterbury Belle trips now appearing with 34067. Didn't these used to be run by the sadly gone Herfordshire Railtours as I think my first railtour in 1998 was one with 35028 and them as the Tour Company.

Right so you have the extra crewing, and the pathing involved in getting the diesel to Wakefield, then once it's detached at Barnsley, more dead mileage for it. Not very cost effective for a comparatively short use mileage.

Yes, I saw the above entry on Uk Steam, and didn't check the date.

Anyway, I've written to RTC for an explanation of why the tour is no longer advertised, and should it materialise, I will share it here.

There are now some more on the RYTC website... Including the Royal Duchy with 70013/34067/5029!

Interesting to see a 'Hadrian' on the same day as the 'Wansbeck' too - 30th March.

Tour from Littlehampton is diesel to London then steam and vice versa on the return I think, from reading the write up. I guess if there is to be main line steam to Sheffield Park and the Bluebell Railway in 2013 it will be with RYTC as I believe they ran the first tours to Matlock and Sherringham and I can't remember Steam Dreams having run on to many heritage railways, WSR in the past only I think.

Worcester-Hereford has been closed to steam for some years.

I missed Swanage at my first attempt, hence the edit!

I really hope that 5699 makes at least 1 of the advertised Cumbrian Mountain Express designated between her and 6115.

I think we are all hoping for that.

Quite possibly, though it could also be UKR who are running the first train to SP, albeit diesel hauled. I'd have thought this would put them in a good position to propose a repeat, this time with steam, and potentially their old favourite 35028 if available ?

    Time will tell

Mmm. Not working that day. I must make some enquiries regarding domestic obligations.

But I wonder if VTL might be the set up to change things here. It would make a very useful alternative route for them to South Wales/Bristol although I'm betting that all GW locos will not fit!

I have been behind Kinlet Hall between Worcester & Hereford and I also belive 6024, 7325 & 2968 have done that route. This was all a number of years ago unfortunately, but shows it can be done. What is the reason for the the restriction?
