No different to Richard Branson being called "Beardie" on here when the WCML franchise was being discussed.

Maybe he may chose to reply in kind... (like Willie Walsh did recently).

I think it's safe to say that the majority of us do just that. Not only WCRC, but all the people, whatever organisation, who POUR time, money, and expertise into keeping the preservation movement going. :hail:

Just a thought... WCRC are promoting "The Lancastrian" on 9th & 16th Feb. Steam around the Preston-Carnforth-Hellifield-Blackburn-Lancaster loop, with locos (according to UKsteam) 44932/48151/TBA. I wonder? Since there's a Winter CME both days as well, I think the linesides might be quite busy...

Perhaps more to-the-point, WCRC are also promoting The Welsh Boarders Steam Special on Easter Monday - 1st April. The route is Crewe-Chester-Shrewsbury-Crewe and UKSteam says the loco choice is 44932/48151/46115. A chance for Messers Smith and Shuttleworth to have a bit of fun, perhaps? Who knows. In any case, I hope they have more success than other promoters with this route. It seems very difficult to get charter-train paths up Gresford bank. Also, the last time one was attempted (earlier this year), 44932 failed between Carnforth and Crewe.

I was told by a colleague whilst working at the railway last night that images of 45699 sporting a red livery double heading with 45231 had surfaced on another forum. Can anyone shed any light on this? Cant find any evidence on the net as of yet

Knowing David Smith's preference for BR livery, I can't see this having any real basis of fact. I've been known to be wrong, though.....

Well the last lot of short-lived internet images allegedly showed it as "definitely being in green", so presumably it all a WCRC plot to wind up those who just can't wait for the official unveiling ;)

Ahh so he's fallen suspect to a hoax then, considering the copyright is from 2007. Shame, sooner the saga ends and she is unveiled the better

Oh dear. Looks like that visit to London at the weekend has done something to Spamcan's space-time continuum. Or he's just talking cobblers again.
