Based on the outline times only possible route is via Honiton outward.

Hopefully the same route as this years excellent run with 35028.

Yes, hopefully, though I have noticed SD appear to be playing safe with itineraries recently, and being very "non-specific" about routing for the majority of their tours..Probably quite a wise move !

Probably a wise move since routes seem to be something that can't be guaranteed until the last minute. That way they don't get howls of protest from people saying they are not getting what they paid for. On the other hand is it fair to expect people to pay for something that may or may not be what they want? I suspect though that Steam Dreams would say that the majority of their passengers only want to get to the destination and don't particularly care what the route is. A little frustrating if like me you are interested in covering as many different routes by steam as possible.

And since Steam Dreams are catering for the majority of passengers, then thats the way it may have to be for the minority.

Has there been any reason given for the cancellation - such as crew issues, lack of bookings, pathing etc?

No reason given but this tour has not featured on the list of tours for 2013 since 1/11/12 when letter received - Changes to our Christmas programme.

There is also one from the MHR to Canterbury on 3rd of October. Doesn't look like you can book it up yet or it sold out very fast as all classes say "refer to booking office".

I think the former is more likely. No trips to Weymouth this year.
Just got to decide which ones to do Kingswear?( depends when the Bluebell extension opens), Holyhead ? ( long day but I have not been further than Llandudno Junction) Exeter probably since I did not do last years. Already booked on the one to Scarborough. Some other possibles but no loco's allocated and I would like to travel behind something other than Tornado.Any of J.H.'s loco's (5029 in particular - a great loco with the right crew), 6009, or 46233 ( although I will probably have to make a trip up north again for a trip behind the Duchesss

Looking at the trips where there is a loco TBC there is a choice of possibly locos that could end up on the trip. 60163, 60009, 4464, 34046, 35028, 5029, 70000 and 71000.

Presume this is because the annual SR steam 'anniversary' trip on 9th July is advertised as coming to Swanage again in 2013?

Unless I've missed something, this trip will presumably be pulled back to Soton by diesel and then Braunton will drag everything back via Laverstock. Doesn't feel anything like the exciting 2012 version of the same event to me, sadly.

Last year's SD trips to Swanage went out via Laverstock, then the loco was uncoupled west of Southampton and ran tender first to Swanage, then returned smokebox first vai Winchester.

Ah yes. Was thinking of the RTC trips. That said, tender first down the branch is not for the faint hearted as was discovered by Bittern last year.
