The two most recent links work fine for me ?, seeing as they are taken from outside WCRC property, I doubt they'd be able to lean on the photter, not that they give away too much anyway.

Nope, still can't view them even after setting up an account.

Never had issues before viewing pics from this site but hey ho, guess I really am going to have to wait until it's out and about.

If you join one of the groups "UK Steam", "Mainline Steam" or "Steam in the UK" on Flickr, you will be able to see it.

Just to check I am not being paranoid, after posting this on here my user log in on the Works no longer works, is it not working for everyone or is it just me.

Whilst I appreciate Mr Smith has no track record of doing this, it would be interesting if he has a long-lost "favourite" Jubilee, and turned out 45699 as..well...whatever his favourite was. Owner's perogative of course.

    Would set the tongues wagging....

Surely its a good thing for the the WCRCo workshops at Carnforth to be the railway equivalent of 'Willie Wonkers Chocolate factory'. We have no idea what is going on their but what emerges is worth the suspence for the surprises.

David Smith has always been one to keep his railway activities private. I suspect few enthusiasts knew of him and his rolling stock until he took over Carnforth and moved most of his collection their. The site is no longer Steamtown but a private railway workshop and operating centre and that should be respected. These days we know very little about what goes on behind the walls and fences of Wolverton Works for example and the same applies to WCRCo at Carnforth.

It is thus very understandable that David has a policy of letting the WCRCo trains and locomotives do the talking these days especially after the criticisms he has received verbally and in print over the years - it is not just the NRM and a certain A3 that a particular railway hack has scribbled about previously.

David's annoyance when pictures taken from within his property appear without his permission can be appreciated. I suspect he is also very annoyed when timings of 'running in' trains appear before they happen - surely these are confidential business information between WCRCo and NR and "not for publication" to quote the BR versions of such. Its one thing when the lone photographer snaps the unexpected GALATEA test run passing and then makes it public, another when the event has been broadcast widely in advance without the consent of WCRCo or NR.

OK, these comments may appear to be 'Poacher turned Gamekeeper' but so be it, we are in the 21st century now.

So WCRC = Wonka's Chocolate Railway Company? They'd need to change their livery though.

Annoyance at leaked photos? The government are very good at "leaking" information just before important accouncements. Just saying ...

Just leave them alone and let them get on with it! When it's ready, it's ready. I am sure it will appear on a railtour with great fanfare.

What is this obsession with trying to be the first to publish a photo, dare I say to scoop an exclusive? And it is a privately owned loco and on private land, so it is an invasion of privacy!

Maybe they would be able to complete the loco a bit faster if they didn’t have to shunt things around to in an attempt to stop the nosey prying eyes.

It's rediculous to expect to see Oompah Loompahs on the footplate on Galatea's first test run. Everybody knows they now work for the USAF where they fly unmanned drones as their bodies can withstand 10G.. Wonka's Chocolate Railway Company? They'd need to change their livery though.
