Exactly! I couldn't afford to do the T9/U double as well as the T9 on its own!

Something to make up for the appearance of the copper top ( again :bored:)

Sir Lamiel, subject to the usual proviso's, should be coming to play, having missed its billed appearance last year

I guess in part it depends where you live, but for me and I would think a lot of people, there is no "clash"; the WSR is too far away for me to make a day visit whereas the MHR is just around the corner. So for people like me it is irrelevant when most other railways outside of the South East hold their galas compared with the MHR. The same line of thinking I'm sure occurs to the MHR management.

Lets hope 30777 makes it this time round. Would be the icing on the cake for me.

I think I will keep my fingers and toes crossed a while longer.....

Regarding the clash of dates.....there are at least 10 "major" railways (SVR, NYMR, Swanage, Bluebell, MHR, WSR, GWR, KESR, ELR, KWVR etc etc) each running 2 or 3 galas in a window between March and October (very roughly 40 weekends).....! Be thankful for the choice

If Simon (21B) is reading this post. Is there any chance we could have 34051 Winston Churchill on display at Ropley for the gala.

    Thanks

Good idea Lee - just where she should have been last year - will look good in the night shoot!

    Hope the NRM wouldn't object.

I will see if we can do that. Depends on what else has to be in the yard other than the working locomotives. At the moment looking at the yard today, I'd say it might be a big ask, but the yard needs to get a lot tidier anyhow before the gala.

As I won't be able to get to the gala this year (and totally gutted), can someone advise how long the visitors will be on the line for? I'd love to pop in (possibly on the 4th) to see the visitors in the yard.

    Thanks

The T9 and 777 will only be making flying visits going by the other events they are booked for in March. 30120 is booked for the Battlefield Line Gala on the 16th and 17th and 777 is booked for the West Somerset Gala also on the 16th and 17th.

This could always change? I remember the other year when 70000 and 60019 were the visiting locos and on arrive at the railway they both arrived the other way round. Far better to wait and see.
