Shame there's no chance of an all-coach triple header...though that maybe a little OTT.

Might it also be looked at the fact that the three operational 4.4.0 s could all be facing the same way .. out of Alresford lol !!

No I do not currently volunteer
I was hoping for a T9 and WC doubleheader...........................

Will the loads for 30120 and 3717 be reduced?

Don't count on it, this is the reply i got from the MHR:

'We have arranged the locos this way in order that we can run three from each direction ...
As it is difficult for us to turn our resident locos this is the only workable solution'

I still don't understand why they wouldn't want all three matching locomotives facing the same way, it seems badly planned for a real one off to see these locomotives in various double head combinations......

Unless the railway aren't going to double head locos at this gala. But we will have to wait and see when the roster comes out.

    Well,

Somebody need to make their mind up as to how many loco's are running!!!!!

Website say's SIX engine line up, yet there are SEVEN pictures and SEVEN rostered loco's -Freudian slip? schoolboy (girl) error?

And yes it would be nice to see the visitors out and about on their own for a change, with the odd double headers thrown in for good measure!

Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I don't like double headers anyway! Unless you've got at least 7 on it just looks silly, unless you've got a small loco piloting a bigger on. I guess the T9 and WC would have been nice if they were the right way round....

A shame we don't have 30506 back in service again. I remember seeing 30120 and 30506 double heading together in the early days of the MHR.

Is there a Spring Gala ??

You wouldn't think so unless you go trawling into the web site. Countryman, Wallace and Gromit, Thomas(With another railways Thomas how silly is that !)Watercress Belle ,The RAT, Facebook and the 35005 appeal, all scroll round and round on what the public see when they go to the home page.

As for the Spring Gala its in the Special events page . It is there but for the lazy its a "secret" shhhhhhhhhh.

I find it odd that 777 has been confirmed as attending on the gala page, but not in the news section? It was announced on their Facebook page back in December (IIRC) and was only put onto the gala page a week or two ago.

I think this is because that is the locomotive used on other railways website pictures aswell as the main Thomas events website, which seem mostly taken at the East Anglian Railway Museum:

Day Out With Thomas 2012 | Live Events and Attractions | Hit Entertainment

No. 54 does seem to travel a bit for thomas events though, currently being at the KESR for their event.

The powers that be must listen Dave, for the Spring gala is now featured on the rotating banner thingie! Just had an interesting Belle, Cheltenham stalled at Wanders and also decided to go backwards whilst slipping at the Medstead distant! Nellie had some problems with the RAT too.

That will be a first lol ... As for slipping and sliding I wouldn't have thought that Wanders was a regular slipping point never in my day anyway.

I think it was lack of steam at Wanders, followed by heavy slipping as we tried to restart outside Medstead. We'd spent 25 mins at Ropley waiting for the RAT and blowing off! Anyway, the Black was sitting in the yard, someone said it had been in steam earlier, will be nice to see here back in action at the gala. Nos sign of any visitors yet though. The U boat went during the week and is now running on the Churnet. Keeping an eye out for lorries bearing veteran steam locos!

They certainly have been listening/watching on here, as like you say its now on the scrolling banner thingy, and the grammatical error re the number of loco's has also been corrected on the main events page.

BUT, still no mention of the night shoot on Friday or Saturday, which it seems quite a few people would like to attend!

Big Brother is watching lol! :spy:

I did comment on their official facebook aswell about the matter. Did seem odd not to have any inclusion of the gala on the main page originally.

I think the problem has been the emphasis needed to be placed on the Wallace & Grommit event which starts tomorrow, and and as its the first time the MHR has hosted this event, they would need to keep that at the forefront of peoples minds ie the family market its aimed at, to the detriment of the gala, I for one don't blame them in that respect as hardened steam buffs would head for the events page regardless (talking of which a new website is to be released soon, the format of which I am unsure of BUT I believe it to be much improved and different in a lot of respects) So now that its up there the info should come "thick and fast" over the next two weeks - and I do hope that they reinstate details of the night shoots!

They'll be yard tours at Medstead & Four Marks, starting at 12.30 and 14.30 each day.
PMV S1995S will be in the cattle dock at Alresford with a model railway inside.
We also have limited edition wagons and mugs for sale at both sites.
