Surprised Ben hasn't mentioned this. Sounds like a good night out.

I hope she will be running with suitable Tandori Express headboard.

Pie, chips and mushy peas on a circular tour from Man Vic sounds like a good idea. How about a Nat Pres charter???

Why not? As long as it leaves after the arrival of the first train from London. (Organisers of the Tin Bath please note that this is 1055 on a Sunday......so it's not helpful that the TB leaves from Victoria at 1045)

If assistance is required, will you just open the gangway on the rear coach and fart in unison ? ;)

Glad they did pick it up - sounds good to me - Think I will be booking, will there be a water stop if the curry is too hot for the Korma wimps as I call them (vindaloo all the way for me) and they drink the supplies ;)

Didn't you know they are returning 18000 to the mainline and it will be on the back - how else did you think VT were getting round the lack of a gas turbine :)

Will the water carrier be exclusive to 5043?

This sounds like a good trip because I love Thai food quite a bit. Curry is one of my favorites.

I think the water carrier is a converted GUV IIRC so it should be available for other Loco's I would imagine - Agree Thai is nice but this the Indian version of curry which is also very nice - If you have never tried Indian Mike I recommend giving it a go ;)

I'm glad that the water carrier shall come in handy for many of these trips that VT is doing in general.

Don't get me started on food, it is a dangerous topic with me. I'm sure that I have had it the Indian Version as well. There is too much good food out there.

Thai food in the US is like Indian food is to us...lots of it and cheap, Though you may find indian in the UK a tad spicier than you may find in the states. Thai in the UK often carries a premium to it, for no apparent reason, though I noted that is also true for Indian in the US.. Go figure.

I've still not heard back from the Pacer Preservation Society, but they might be interested in doing a joint event.

Ditto for me on Pacer! Why are lunchtime circulars (noon till 4/5 pm) not more popular? Plenty of routes around Manchester and the Midlands. Short day for the crews, the ability to get to the trip from almost anywhere and a cheaper (one meal) dining option for those that want food. Maybe the Curry Train might start a trend.

The water carrier will work with (a bit of a modification) any loco that has a hydrant feed under the tender. 5043, 4965, 7029 and 6201 should all be capable of using it.

Deolali are definetly an INDIAN resturant, so I imagine they will be providing Indian curries!
