And when your riding on that train you wouldn't really notice how inauthentic it was.

Rest peacefully folks, the observation saloon is attached to the Kidder end of the set, 80072 facing Bridgnorth, 34007 only runs with this set under the cover of darkness.
A Std tank on a long rake of teaks, anything prototypical in that? Inter-regional workings perhaps?

Can anyone tell me what trains the other rakes are, ie the stock roster so that we can see if there are any authentic, or really non-authentic, combinations

34007 and 34053 share the maroon and blood/custard mk1 sets turn and turn about
1501 handles the LMS set for the majority of the time
5164 and 4566 have a 3 coach GWR set each
65 is paired with 2 LMS coaches on its local train

Don't suppose anyone could shed some info on which departures from Kidderminster 34007 will be working on the Saturday??

The loco allocations are on the SVR website Jeff in the latest news section under the Spring gala stop press tab.

Whilst appreciative that the information is at least available, why has it been made so hard to see a timetable by searating all the various trains, as well as the loco allocations. It's not as if they'll have be written individually, some will have to have separated all the information has been done.

Why can't just a simple 1 page timetable be released showing all trains with loco allocations? Even if you charged a supplement I would have no issue with that, or maybe give it free to those who buy a Rover ticket and say £1 or something to anyone else. You'd think the Spring and Autumn Galas were operated on completely different railways the way this information is handled. No consistency at all.

I decided to "build my own timetable" to give me a sheet for Friday/Saturday and one for Sunday, incorporating all the information from the SVR website.

But I found difficulty with the loco allocations from Kidderminster for Sunday:
    34007 leaves Kidderminster at 09.00.
    34007 leaves at 10.25
This is obviously impossible; the 09.00 should be 34053, to form the 10.40 ex Bridgnorth.
But the 10.25 only goes as far as Arley; I'm presuming that the 10.25 should be 5164, and that 34007 is on the 10.55 to return from Bridgnorth with the 1240. Am I right, or have I missed something?

34007 only takes the 9am ex Kidderminster to Bewdley (swapping with SKP), then returns to Kidderminster LE in time for the 10.25 departure.

    Thanks,
    Lewis

I did the same thing for Saturday, the only gaps I couldn't fill were the 15:48 from Bewdley to Highley, and 16:38 Highley to Bridgnorth. I don't know if I'm just being stupid or I'm completely missing something?

Thanks for explaining that, Lewis, I presume you have access to a REAL timetable! But doesn't that leave 34007 on a turn to Arley.....or does it run on on the 11.25 slot from Highley?

    Thanks in advance.

I too have worked the available information up into my own timetable, and had the same problem identifying the locomotive for these two services. At the moment my best guess is that it will be 4566 and that furthermore 4566 will work back to Kidderminster with 1450 on the 18:00 departure from Bridgnorth. The 18:00 is described as a three coach running non stop between Bridgnorth and Bewdley, and I can't see 1450 working that on its own!

    Cheers.

That doesn't quite go with what I've got. For that to happen I can only imagine that 4566 runs back up to Bewdley light engine after bringing the 15:13 from Bewdley into Kidderminster, which is certainly possible, there is enough time to do that, can't be too sure though since there are no times for it.

I plumped for 4566 to work those two services as it is the only rostered gala locomotive that isn't doing anything else somewhere else along the line at around that time. Kidderminster station staff would have to work quickly to detrain all the passengers off the 15:24 arrival in order for the stock to be worked back to Bewdley ECS in time for the 15:48 departure - not to mention the loco crew, if they also have to run round!

At least we'll know the answer in less than a fortnight.

    Cheers,

    4566 in both cases

But it is 1450 on the 1800

    It's different stock, the 15.24 is GW2(B) with 34053 and the 15.48 is 4566 with GW2(A).
