    Interesting tender paint job...
indeed 45699 has held a few tenders since withdrawal, anyone have a history of them ?

    It wasn't always so lucky...

Well I think the Frisco 1522 will be hauling the train. 4-8-2 mountain type locomotive.
Frisco 1522 High Speed Bark - YouTube Just kidding.

Lets face it though. Imagine being in Carnforth doing restoration, overhaul or steam locomotive maintenance work with a good stable of locomotives around. I'm sure they would like to have more than 1 mainline locomotive ready for charter work.

Hope that doesn't come across as being harsh to anyone, including people at Carnforth.

I hope others agree with my opinion for the most part.

Keep up, Ralph - see post #758 - but good luck with the latest mission. Don't forget the zoom lens for your Box Brownie.

Boy, I guess Carnforth will have more than one engine ready for tour work pretty darn soon.
I feel like I have fallen flat on my face, based on what I posted last time.

No, after coming down behind the 'lines' I was incarcerated in a coach, and spent 24 hours travelling around the country behind a diesel. However with the help of the resistance I finally made good my escape at about 5am this morning, unfortunately without any photographic evidence....
