Posts above confirm that the locomotive has been moved from the Binbrook site to an undisclosed "safe haven".

Saw photos of upturned tender top, locomotive frames and running plate and boiler that were taken on March 3rd at Binbrook.
What has been moved, and when?

I was assuming the post by "Austerity" on 5th February was correct. Apparently not so.

What i expect "Austerity" meant was that some smaller parts have been moved, i would expect that whilst there is legal action ongoing that nothing can happen, unless the situation deteriates further and the engine becomes under threat of imediate cutting up, in which case i would imagine it will be moved to protect it , legally, is there any issue with the loco being moved to Selinge whilst the legal case is still un settled?

No, he said "...much of it is already there". ( referring to the "safe haven")

To me that does not mean "some smaller parts".

What I posted on the the 5th Feb was correct. Some smaller parts and larger ones too plus tools and equipment were previously moved to safe haven. There is no legal reason preventing the main components from leaving Binbrook. Oh and there is NO legal case to settle. Where on earth does all this misinformation comes from!

What larger parts then Austerity? The post above mentions the tender body, loco frames, running plate and boiler are still at Binbrook, so apart from wheels, what other "larger parts" are we talking about?

Were the missing wheels ever located and recovered?

Does anyone know the owner's current intentions ?

Misinformation is usually the result of lack of information, people naturally seek to explain it by logically guessing the blanks.
The reason 42859 has been labelled a no hoper for so many years, is exactly an example of this.

The owners had oppourtunity to seek to capitalise on this recent unfortunate events to gain a platform to get sympathy, if not help or cash to his cause, but has failed to do so, thus far, one can only assume he has a wedge of cash and pool of resource to go it alone, or a desire to continue to witness its slow continuing deterioration... Unfortunatly I think it neither are the case by choice, judging by communications viewed, in my interpretation anyway, seem to blame others but for whatever reason the status quo continues.. Wherever it is or was or has been and unfortunately, as I read the story.. Seems to suggest probably will continue at its next home too.

Obviously its the owners choice, I think so far its been a sad one for such a unique engine, and makes it all the harder when the day comes that someone willing and able to take the job on, or the next scrap yard comes beckoning.

I won't add to the misinformation by speculating :)
But its a safe assumption if it was bought by the same owner from Barry, that they are not teenagers.

Said owner was a regular poster on this forum at one time but was hounded off by a minority who didn't like the truth of some of his posts. I wonder if he still looks in as a guest?

My money is on Bongo - he did seem to have his finger on the pulse, and if you look back on his posts you will find that most, if not all, of them were correct.

Wasnt T Bird kicked off rather than driven away? I remember reading somewhere about using a mrs t bird account or somethin. Or I could be completely crossing my wires.

I certainly miss Bongo's postings. Whilst what he wrote wasn't always to people's liking, as you say his postings were constantly shown to be correct in reality.

What is sad though is that the present owner doesn't on the face of it have either the funds, or the desire, to see the loco even moved to a place of safety, let alone restored, which is going to be a huge cost. I hasten to add I am not in any way being critical of the owner. We are not aware of his personal circumstances that lead the loco to be in this situation.
Now before you all jump in and say "its his loco, he is free to do (or not do) what he wants with it when he wants", well yes, it is his private property. However, like with the rarity of ex-LNER types in preservation, Barry didn't yield many ex-LMS locos, unlike ex-GW, Southern and Standard types, so with a rare beast such as the Crab it is a great pity that the Crab is not looking at a more secure future.
Has the owner been offered any help for any established group do we know, or has anyone offered to buy it and take it off his hands?
